How it works

From profile to first conversation.

No agency, no middle-man, no guessing from a photo. Here is exactly what happens.

  1. Family1

    Tell us about your household

Your children's ages, your suburb, the days and hours you need, live-in or live-out, your hourly rate and your must-haves.

  2. Au pair2

Au pairs build a free profile

Weekly availability, experience, languages, driving, first aid, references confirmed by previous families, and a short hello in their own words.

  3. Match3

    See who genuinely fits

We score every au pair against your criteria and show you why each one fits, in plain words. Anyone who can't cover your hours never appears.

  4. Connect4

    Connect, then chat

Send a request. If the au pair says yes, a private chat opens right here. No phone numbers until you both want to share them.

Matching

How we decide who fits.

First we apply your non-negotiables: region, dates, live-in or live-out, driving licence, non-smoker, comfortable with pets. Anyone who fails those never appears.

Everyone left gets a score out of 100 from the signals on the right, and you see the top three reasons for every match. No black box.

  • Shared languages

Full marks for a fluent shared language, partial for conversational.

  • Experience with your children's ages

Infant and toddler experience counts for more because it is rarer.

  • Your weekly schedule

How much of the hours you asked for the au pair can cover. No overlap at all, and they don't appear.

  • Dates and duration

Availability must overlap your start date; longer overlap scores higher.

  • Distance

Same suburb scores highest for live-out, then same city, then same province.

  • Pay

Full marks when your hourly rate meets what they'd accept. Weekly pocket money for live-in.

  • Skills

First aid, driving, own car, special needs, tutoring, swimming.

  • Lifestyle fit

Pets, smoking, evening babysitting, travel. All optional, all considered.

  • Confirmed references

A reference confirmed by a previous family lifts the score.

After the match

What happens next is up to you.

Chat privately

Ask about experience, routines, expectations. Share photos. Nobody sees a phone number until they choose to share it.

Meet on a call or in person

When it feels right, arrange a video call or a visit. Our safety guide covers what to ask and what to look for.

Agree the details yourselves

Hours, pocket money, time off, house rules. We give you a template agreement. The arrangement is between you.
